41606 Sierra morning

This is the same location as in 41604 Sierra Moon. After the moon set I simply waited for the sunrise, the sun lit up the top of the mountains and I made this image. This image has a different feeling than he 41604 Sierra Moon. This image is very serene while the other one is dream like. The haze you see on the right side is caused by the terrible fires in Southern California in October 2007. Three images were joined together to make this panorama. This image received the "Best of Show" award at the Los Altos Rotary Art Show in May 2008
